Brian Fare - Aviation Illustrations

Brian Fare

Brian Fare has received no 'formal' training in art and is entirely self-taught.  He has always had an interest in art with his preferred medium being the graphite pencil.  All of Brian's aviation illustrations are drawn using graphite pencils ranging from 6H to 9B producing images that vary in tone from the richest of blacks to the purest of whites including all shades of grey in between.

Brian has always had a keen interest in aviation since being a young lad.  Being born and raised in Freckleton Lancashire, and living a few hundred yards from the main runway of Warton aerodrome where his father worked on  aircraft such as the Lightning, TSR2, Jaguar and the MRCA/Tornado.

After leaving school, Brian became an aircraft technician serving with the Royal Air Force with over 23 years service.  It is this technical background, along with his interest in aviation that has provided Brian with the insight and technical knowledge of the aircraft he draws in fine detail.

It is only recently that his pencil drawings depicting aircraft of the Royal Air Force have 'taken-off' and the popularity of his work has increased, with many of his original works being commissioned as leaving gifts for colleagues within the Royal Air Force.

Brian has recently joined the prestigious Guild of Aviation Artists and is hoping to exhibit his drawings in future Annual paintings of the Year Exhibitions.
